Haseena Mallik, a woman in her mid-20s and the CEO of her private estate business, sat in a conference hall, nervously spinning a paperweight with her right hand. Her eyes showed the anger she was feeling inside while the board members talked among themselves. Today was a crucial day for her-she had hoped to secure the biggest tender in the country. Unfortunately, another company won the tender by bribing an officer. Now, Haseena and her board members were gathered in the conference hall, trying to figure out their next steps to reclaim the tender.....
"Any ideas how KHAN'S managed to get this tender when We had everything our own way?" Haseena asked sternly.... She tried her level best to not to be rude and keep calm, but her frustration still crept in her voice. Her voice and eyes were enough to scare the employees of her office and somewhere managed to scare board members too, but she knows she has to be in her limits.
" Miss. Mallik, KHAN'S iss business mei pichhle 20 saal se hai, they has their own way. Unke liye ye tender paana kabhi koi bada kaam nahi tha" states one of the senior board members, KARAN ... Karan Luthra is Haseena's father's most trusted person who holds valuable information about various industries, including their secret blacklists.....
" Karan humne bhi iss tender ke liye sab kuch diya tha, 2 saal ki mehnat thi iske pichhe, aur ab ain waqt pe koi dusra aake aise hi le jaye, ye nahi ho sakta " said Haseena.... Haseena had worked day and night for this project, and she just couldn't let her hard work be ruined like this...
"Karan hume ye tender kisi bhi haal mei chahiye, hume farq nahi padta aap kya karenge aur kaise karenge, do everything you can par hume ye tender chahiye. Ab ye hamari chahat nahi hamari zarurat hai. Khan's ne Haseena mallik ke ego ko pukara hai " Haseena spoke firmly, her eyes showing anger. She smirked as she stood up from the chair, twirling the paper weight once more....
A young woman in her early twenties was having fun playing with the children at the orphanage. Her T-shirt and pants got completely soaked in wet mud from playing together with the kids....
Karishma Singh, a young, lovely, and confident girl, visits the place every evening to spend time with the children. She lost her parents when she was very young, and now she only has faint memories of them, with blurry faces and voices.....
" Karishma didi kal aap hamare liye chocolates leke aaoge na? " Asked one of the orphan boy, all the kids there loved Karishma... Maybe she was the only one who made them feel like home...
"Haa Karishma didi, hume bhi chocolate chahiye" shouted all of the young souls present their Karishma chuckled on their energy and nodded her head with a beautiful smile...
"Haa par uske liye aap sab ko abhi Sona padega, kal subah school bhi toh jaana hai na? " Asked Karishma with a warm smile.... Karishma certainly loved all the kids... Perhaps she saw her childhood in them...
All the kids nodded their heads positively, their excitement clearly palpable on their faces as they waited for the next day....
" Toh chaliye sab jaldi se sone jaiye aur haa koi badmashi nahi, hum kal aap sabke liye gifts leke aayenge" said Karishma as she ruffled the hairs of one of the boy present their.
All the children screamed in happiness and rushed to their room for sleep after kissing Karishma on cheeks one by one.
" THEY ALL ARE MY HOME" mumbled Karishma to herself with a deep breathe as she made her way out of the orphanage.
It was almost 10 at night when Karishma found herself in a gift store. She was there to buy items for her Lil homes, selecting toy cars, sunglasses, watches, and books based on the kids' preferences.
Meanwhile, Haseena left her office with a set jaw, her keys in hand. The anger from earlier events was still evident on her face. She unlocked her car, threw her bag onto the passenger seat, and sat behind the driver's wheel, speeding off quickly.
For Haseena, driving has always been a way to calm down. Whenever she felt upset or overwhelmed by anger, she would go on a long drive and return only when she felt ready. Today was one of those days.....
Haseena was driving above the speed limit, as she often did, when she noticed a girl in baggy clothes standing defiantly in the middle of the road with her arms crossed.
"Damn it," Haseena muttered under her breath. Instinctively, she slammed her foot on the brake pedal and yanked the handbrake, causing the car to screech wildly. The vehicle skidded out of control as Haseena fought desperately to regain command. Finally, with a tense jolt, the car came to a halt, mere inches from a tree....
Karishma's heart raced as she gently guided Haseena out of the car, worried about her well-being. The sight of blood on Haseena's forehead made Karishma's hands tremble. With care and urgency, Karishma supported Haseena, who winced in pain with closed eyes. Together, they moved away from the car, a sense of relief washing over Karishma as they found safety.
Haseena instinctively jerked karishma's hand and said.... " Dimaag kharab hai tumhara? Aadhi raat ko beech road pe kya marne ke iraade se aayi thi? Aur marna hi tha toh kya meri hi car mili thi? " Her tone lacing with anger and frustration.... After the earlier events at the office, this only added fuel in her distress....
"Oh maddam, Marne ke liye nahi bachane ke liye aayi thi, Zara aankhe phaad ke dekhogi toh pata chalega aage kitna bada pit hole hai, tumhara iraada gaadi usme ghusane ka tha? " Retaliated Karishma as she pointed towards the pit hole capable enough of causing an accident....
"Toh kisne kaha tha bachane ko? Aur aise bhooto ki tarah kon bachata hai? Woh toh achha hai hume dar nahi lagta, koi aur hota toh tumhe dekh ke hi upar pahuch jaata, fir bachati rehti iss pit hole se " said Haseena again as she pressed her wound to stop bleeding.....
"Woh toh mai abhi bhi kar sakti hu, tumhe pahucha du upar? " Said Karishma with a sarcastic smile as she passed a handkerchief to Haseena....
"Tumne toh almost pahucha diya tha, thanks to God unhone mujhe bulaya nahi " replied Haseena with the same sarcastic smile as she accepted the handkerchief and pressed her wound....
" God mera gift reject nahi karenge, try Karu? " Karishma said as she looked at her wound which stopped bleeding but some blood clotted around it....
"Why not? Ussi pit hole mei kud jao. Best gift to the earth as well as God. Woh bhi tumhe banake guilt mei honge " replied Haseena with twisted lips as she moved back to her car....
" Tumhe nahi lagta tum kuch zyada hi bolti ho? " Asked Karishma as she followed Haseena to her car with the gifts bag in hand....
"Well shukar manao mai sirf bol rahi hu " replied Haseena in annoyance as she opened the car door and settled behind steering wheel...
"Uske siwa tum kya kar bhi kya sakti ho " replied Karishma with rolling eyes and herself settled on passenger seat....
"What the fuck... How dare you to sit in my car? And why?" Shouted Haseena as Karishma made herself comfortable....
"Ab maine tumhari Jaan bachayi hai, toh tumhe bhi toh kuch karna chahiye so drop me at home " replied Karishma with a toothy smile on her face
"No, I am not dropping you anywhere" replied Haseena stubbornly and get out of the car .... She moved towards the other side and opened the door for Karishma....
"Now get the hell out of my car " shouted Haseena once again....
"I am not going anywhere unless you drop me at my home... It's on you whether you want to spend the entire night arguing with me or want to drop me at home and enjoy your night? " Replied Karishma as she pulled the lever under the seat making it recline backwards and laid there comfortably....
"I think first option suits better? Isn't it? You and me? Arguing on middle road? The lightining night, this cosy whether? What do you think? " Asked Karishma out of the blue while Haseena closed her eyes to maintain her composure.....
"I have a better idea " said Haseena with twisted lips, her annoyance visible on her face...
"What's that? " Asked Karishma with curiosity...
"Why shouldn't I throw you in that pit hole and leave from here so you die peacefully without troubling others? " Said Haseena in a sarcastic tone....
" Idea isn't that bad but let's replace our positions, you should be in pithole, that will suit more " replied Karishma.....
Haseena closed her eyes and took deep breathes to control her anger while Karishma was suppressing her laugh....
"Ok ok! Enough of jokes... I seriously need your help, I got late and there is no cab or taxi anywhere near... Please drop me "requested Karishma in a polite and gentle tone....
Haseena opened her eyes and looked at Karishma who was looking at her with genuine face, her eyes depicting the truth and her intentions....
"Please " requested Karishma once more....
"Fine" mumbled Haseena before she once again settled on driver's seat and zoomed her car towards karishma's house....
Both were silent along the whole journey... But that silence was comfortable enough for them to enjoy the ride ... Haseena was driving unusually slow... Maybe cause of the passenger beside her or because of the earlier chances of accident.... Soon they were in front of Karishma's house....
"Thank you so much !! You are very kind " said Karishma as she made her way out of the car
"Well then you don't know me enough babygirl !! " Replied Haseena with a wink...
" I will know then " said Karishma again with a smirk ....
There was something different in the last two sentences... Or maybe they both were misinterpreting the tone and words? Or they both were hiding some bigger things than that? Or maybe they both know each other already? Or do they have some connections? Who knows?
"Well I will take your leave " said Karishma as she disappeared from Haseena's sight.... Haseena too accelerated to her usual speed and zoomed out for her curable therapy ........
